Sometimes it feels like we have forgotten the being in human being. We are often judged and defined by what we are doing in life. Because society dictates that success is only achieved (or deserved) by doing a lot. It seems like just being is not enough.
But there is so much wisdom and power in being rather than doing. When we just are, we can be so much more present in the moment, feeling and appreciating the flow of life. When we just are, we open ourselves to receive, whether it is receiving from others, from nature or from our inner selves.
We so often restrict the abundance of the universe by choosing to receive it only through certain acceptable channels. And in doing so, we are interfering with a natural flow of abundance that wants to find its way to us.
Receiving authentically is about acknowledging that you are enough — that you don’t need to do more in order to be worthy of receiving. When you receive authentically, you are no longer bound by any preconceived ideas or limitations as to what, when or how you are ‘allowed’ to receive.
Receiving authentically is about acknowledging that you are enough — that you don’t need to do more in order to be worthy of receiving.
We have been so conditioned by society to feel that receiving must always be reciprocated by giving. That filling your cup first is the mark of an ego-driven, selfish person. Or that you cannot receive just for the sake of receiving, because there must always be a reason, occasion or achievement to be worthy of a gift.
Over the years, too many customers have mentioned how unworthy they felt to receive a beautiful jewel. Because it was too expensive, too beautiful, too luxurious for them. Because they hadn’t ‘done anything’ to deserve it. But sometimes these jewels just find their way to you, and want to be received unconditionally.
Some of my pieces have waited patiently for years for the right person to discover and adore them. To me, fine jewellery should not be defined or limited to current trends and what ‘sells’. To me, a very special piece of jewellery consciously chooses who is meant to receive it. I know the right person for each of my jewels is out there, and it is so very special when they do find each other.
It was such a revelation to me to hear during a healing session that you must first learn to receive before you can give (and receive) authentically. I have always been so focused on giving in order to fulfil my soul mission. But now I realise that I will never be able to truly experience the joy of giving without being truly open to the joy of receiving first.
The universe has so much to give to you. All you have to do is allow yourself to receive unconditionally.
