The Patterns I’m Seeing

by | 28 July 2026 | Wisdom

Over the past few years, I’ve created guided meditations, courses and, more recently, a series of talks exploring many of life’s most important subjects. One of the unexpected gifts of doing this has been seeing which themes people return to most often.

On the surface, they seem quite different: peace, self-care, intuition, worth, receiving, purpose and perspective. But taken together, they reveal many of the questions, challenges and changes people seem to be living through collectively.

These are the main themes I see emerging again and again.

Caring for ourselves

Self-care is no longer being seen simply as indulgence. More people are recognising that caring for ourselves allows us to be more present, more available and more able to support the people we love. Peace, rest and emotional wellbeing are becoming priorities rather than rewards we earn after everything else has been done.

Reclaiming our own authority

For a long time, we have been encouraged to look outside ourselves for answers. We have given enormous authority to experts, institutions, systems and other people’s opinions. Now, something is shifting. More people are beginning to recognise that wisdom also exists within them. Intuition gives us access to a remarkable inner intelligence. It helps us sense what is aligned, what needs our attention and which direction feels true before we can necessarily explain why.

Questioning what makes us worthy

Many of us were taught that worth had to be earned. We learned to measure ourselves through achievement, productivity, success and comparison. There was always someone doing more, having more or appearing to be further ahead. But more people are now questioning that entire way of seeing themselves. What if worth is not something we prove through effort? What if it is something that already exists?

Becoming more willing to receive

Worth and receiving are deeply connected. When we believe we must earn everything, receiving can feel uncomfortable. Support, appreciation, love, opportunity and abundance may arrive, yet part of us still struggles to accept them. Receiving asks us to remain open, to recognise what is being offered and to believe we are worthy of allowing it into our lives.

Purpose and perspective

Many people are questioning what comes next. They may be navigating change, uncertainty or the realisation that the life they once wanted no longer feels quite right. Purpose matters, but perspective often comes first. When we begin seeing ourselves, our experiences and our possibilities differently, a new direction can become visible. Clarity does not always come from trying harder. Sometimes it comes from seeing differently.

What these patterns reveal

These meditations, courses and talks may begin in different places, but together they offer a revealing picture of the moment we are living through.  People are seeking greater peace. They are reclaiming their intuition. They are questioning old beliefs about worth. They are becoming more open to receiving. They are searching for purpose and new ways of seeing their lives.

These are deeply personal experiences, but they are not isolated ones. They are themes many of us are living at the same time. And perhaps recognising that is part of what helps us move through them with greater clarity, confidence and hope.
