Customer Care

Craftsmanship & Warranty

At Natalie Barney we love all crystals, gems, and metals, and it is our mission to ensure that they are brought to life through the right design, and crafted to last beyond a lifetime.

Our pieces are either fully handmade, hand finished, or cast (when the design is too intricate to be made by hand). We aim to find the perfect balance between strength and beauty. Our craftmanship reflects a deep intention to create jewellery that enhances our sacred gems, is safe to be worn every day, and is created to give you years of joy.

Every single piece is a unique work of art, and many will only be made once. As such, we play close attention to every single detail of the design and the manufacturing process. We offer a 12-month manufacturing warranty on all items. In the rare case that any breakage occurs due to a manufacturing fault within the first 12 months of purchase, we will happily repair the item free of charge. As all of our pieces are individual, should we not be able to repair the item for you, we will offer a boutique credit or a gift card to the full amount paid.

All jewellery, as an everyday partner, is very much subject to wear and tear, and can be damaged through any activity. This is especially true of rings. Therefor our guarantee does not cover damage due to normal wear and tear, accidents, or failure to reasonably protect, maintain, or care for your jewellery. In the following cases, your jewellery will not be covered by our warranty:

1. General wear and tear

Claws and precious metals, in general, wear over time and may require ‘building up’ or restoration work as part of normal jewellery maintenance. We offer a complimentary annual clean and check to help monitor and maintain your Natalie Barney jewellery.

2. Damage caused by accidents or mistreatment

Dropping, knocking, or catching a piece of jewellery on another object can damage the setting and stones. It is important to remove jewellery before participating in activities that could lead to damage, such as going to the gym, playing sport, gardening, cleaning, or handling machinery.

3. Exposure to chemicals and corrosive detergents

Chemicals such as make-up, perfume, chlorine, cleaning products, creams, and lotions can damage and discolour gemstones and metals.

4. Exposure to extreme temperatures

Extreme hot or cold can cause damage to gemstones and metals. It is important to remove jewellery when doing activities like washing up, using a hot tub, bathing, using a sauna.

5. Water damage and soap build-up

Water from taps, swimming pools, and hot tubs, as well as soaps and detergents can lead to unsightly build up or damage to gemstones and metals. Pearls and beaded strands are particularly vulnerable to water and soap and should be removed when applying lotions and makeup, and when swimming, showering, bathing, or washing up.

5. Exposure to concentrated UV light

Some gemstones can be permanently damaged through exposure to concentrated UV lights, such as those used during manicures.
